About Us
From serving our country to serving your success, that's The Inkwell Guild story.
I'm George, a Navy veteran who brings the same dedication and efficiency from military service notarizing your important documents and crafting resumes that land interviews.
After years of military service, I landed a job as a recruiter.
In my job as a recruiter, I received dozens of resumes every day and conducted dozens of interviews every day and I met so many amazing people who were good at their jobs, but writing a resume is not something they had done for a long while making it a very difficult and time-consuming task. Many were new to the workforce and had no experience with resume writing and most of them hadn't been taught how to write a resume, leading to missed opportunities for all of them.
Recruiters don’t have the time to go through all the tasks needed to craft a resume for candidates, so they simply move on to the next resume. Some of the candidates would go for big name resume services but the resulting resume had the resume service company logo and marketing material everywhere, horribly detracting from the candidates' story and turning it into an advertising billboard for the company rather than talking about the candidate. So, job candidates, from people new to the workforce who had never been taught how to write a resume to carer changers who had years of experience and transferable skills, to fellow military veterans who didn’t know how their military experience translates to civilian words on a resume would get sidelined so, one day I decided it was time for me to step up and help bridge that gap between the candidates and the recruiters.
As a recruiter I already conducted interviews and skills inventories, all that was missing was putting it in writing to get their stories across and to get them noticed by employers so, drawing from my technical experience from the military, civilian recruitment experience and my college education I set out to help people craft resumes that land interviews.
My military service instilled strong discipline and the ability to follow procedures meticulously, and my recruitment work also requires careful handling of paperwork, qualifications assessment, and process management. These skills of reviewing documents verifying identities, which are all crucial for notary work and signing agent work, so I also become a notary public and signing agent.
Now, years after starting that journey and having helped so many people get those interviews, I wanted to offer that help to everyone rather than just exclusively to recruitment clients, I want to empower everyone to showcase their strengths to land those interviews and to notarize your important documents.
That's how Th Inkwell Guild was born right here in the historical city of Fredericksburg, your one-stop shop for both securing your documents and securing your future.
